The Rock is a living breathing hero for a lot of people in this world. His work ethic is second to none, he trains like an animal daily and fits in long days on sets across the world shooting Hollywood blockbusters constantly. He is a star and could easily take the easy way out and get jobs and do a bit of training to look the part for the film, but for him this is life.
Our anchor. Last week was the hardest I’ve ever had to manage w/ an average of 3 1/2 hours of sleep per night due to work and travel. Fun. Yesterday I woke up at 5am, dog tired, blood shot eyes and stepped into my gym before I had to meet with the press and “be on” all day. Thought what the fuck am I doing? Do I just do cardio to get some blood going and wake up or do I turn around and not do anything due to fatigue. I said, ahhh fuck it and decided to train legs. Hardest and most grueling to train. Wound up having one the best workouts I’ve ever had. Grateful for my anchor. We’re all busy, we’re all tired, we all got families to feed and work to get done. Whatever it is, find your anchor. Use it and project it. It’ll help bring you balance in this crazy thing we call life. For the record, your anchor does NOT have to be weird shit like big heavy chains that look like they belong in the next SAW movie. #FindYourAnchor⚓️ #IronParadise #SexyChains
At 45 the guy is still hard at it, this year bringing back the cult tv show Baywatch onto the big screen. But we are just huge fans of Ballers and I sit here catching up on season 2 now, you must sit down and watch this show if you haven’t already.
FACT – Dwayne found worldwide fame firstly in the late 90’s as The Rock
How to train like Dwayne Johnson
The man is hard at it from 5am in the morning. To get the physique of this man, steroid free that is you need to be up before the sun and training. 1 hour of cardio before most us have even stirred in the bed he has already smashed a session. Combine that work ethic with steadfast dieting and the gains will come, you just have to show willing on both sides.
The Rock hits heavy and with power and endurance. He pushes his body to limits constantly, that means your motivation has to be right up there at all times. To get to the level of DJ you have to be there or thereabouts day in, day out. He hits up the big compound lifts so he engages large muscle groups all the time. Those huge lifts burn through calories way more than individual muscle targeting, the individual muscle groups he will hit afterwards when he’s done the big lifts to really hit the target groups that session. Evil!
To feed all that muscle and keep the growing Dwayne gets through a variation of protein that consists of chicken, steak fillets, egg whites, and cod. He pairs those with asparagus, baked potato, leafy salads, peppers, mushrooms and onions.
As you can imagine we are talking about a much bigger amount than your normal diet, think over 5000 a day and all this will depend on the film/tv show at the time i’m sure. (If you only take one thing away from this please don’t let it be that you need to eat 5000 calories a day to look like The Rock)
The video above shows Sean Evans trying out the diet of Dwayne Johnson, a decent effort by Sean and show’s the difficulty it would take for someone to go into this type of lifestyle that comes naturally to The Rock.
Dwayne Johnson is a living breathing champ, one of the ultimate pinups for people showing that if you really want it you’ve just got to work for it. We all complain our daily grind get’s in the way of working out. This guy does some long days and he will already have put more effort into his workouts than most of us will over the week.
If you can take his motivation and training into just a week of your workouts you’ll be much better off for it. Seriously though don’t just eat 5000 calories.
