Pre-workouts get both plus and negative reviews, but for me they are of great benefit to us. As long as you consume them within a balanced diet.
Cellucor is a trusted manufacturer, based out of Texas that has been around for a while now.
Cellucor C4 Pre Workout Ingredients and Nutrition
Cellucor splits itself into 4 parts in terms of their headline ingredients.
- 1g Arginine work towards achieving a good pump as you workout.
- 150mg Caffeine increase your energy reserves.
- 1.6g Carnosyn Beta-Alanine works towards endurance.
- 1g Creatine Nitrate will boost performance.
Cellucor also contains a good load of vitamins. Vitamin C, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid and Vitamin B12 make up, with over 400% of your daily vitamin C requirements and nearly 600% of your B12 recommended daily amount.
There is also an ‘energy blend’ included. 425mg of the Explosive Energy Blend, not a fan of this at all. Though at least it isn’t the entire ingredients listed as a blend, they are obviously looking to keep under wraps the ingredients around caffeine that they use to build energy.
Cellucor C4 Pre Workout Price
From a scope around the internet you can pick up a box for just under £20 in the UK. In the US you are looking at $30 for 30 servings.
Cellucor C4 Benefits and Effectiveness
B vitamins in a pre workout are not going to help with supercharging your workout. Even if you are deficient that takes time to build the levels back up, not just one hit half an hour before a workout.
B-vitamins are linked to energy production though.
Your main ingredients in this pre-workout though are there and the numbers look good.
150mg of caffeine is a fairly low number for pre-workouts, depending on your personal lifestyle this could well be a miss as you need more, for others 150mg (equivalent of a cup and a half of coffee) might be more than enough for a burst of energy.
We went for fruit punch, because it’s a fairly standard flavour so good for a comparison. I liked it, in the way you can like a pre-workout drink. Nothing amazing here, but a decent effort.
C4 comes in 12 different flavours though, so even if Fruit Punch isn’t up your street, there is enough to go at. Frozen Bombiscle, WTF is that!?!?!
I think C4 Pre Workout is a decent product, representing good value for money. The ingredient profile is also pretty good, the 4 key pillars of a pre-workout are there. The caffeine level isn’t over substantial and there are added benefits of vitamins in this also. The ingredients do include artificial ingredients though for taste, make sure you do check thoroughly the ingredients to make sure you are not allergic to anything.
